  • Stories that might inform CRPs' social media strategies: Approaches, What Works Well, What Doesn't (20 minutes)
CRPs Center Approach (+) What works well? (-) What doesn't?
L&F ILRI Proper guideline for all the social media tools we use (Tagging, categorizing, title, description and formats)
example: http://ilri-comms.wikispaces.com/

KommsKlinic (Capacity building to staff on various communication tools)
* We help our staff to better communicate their work, generate and share information and engage with partners.
* We give KommsKlinic with two approaches, awareness to all staff and hand-on up on request/need from themes and projects.

Example: http://ilri-training.wikispaces.com/
Guideline
* Helped us mange our content well
* Easily searchable and accessible on the web
* Our visibility has increased
* As we have proper tagging (other center can easily integrate our outputs/contents)
* CRP contents could easily be found

KommsKlinic
* Staffs are well aware of the different tools available
* Use the tools to document and share knowledge
* To share and access information
Gudiline

* some don't follow the guideline
*

KommsKlinic
* keeping the same pace in all our offices
* Webex (needs to be improved)
A4NH IFPRI Invite staff to participate in newly formed Social Media Working Group (SMWG) and adhere to institutional Social Media Guidelines and Web Policy Guidlelines (for ifpri.info microsite on Wordpress) * COM liaisons good at sharing major announcements with IFPRI's Outreach Unit for cross-promotion (via social media channels, web features, etc.) * Strategic planning process for CRPs done independently of IFPRI COM staff so maybe missing out on possible synergies
CIAT
WorldFish
WLE
CPWF CPWF's Twitter account (@waterandfood) was transitioned into the WLE Twitter account (@CGIAR_WLE) in August * Demonstrates integration of programs
* Gives WLE a 'head-start' on Twitter, with over 1200 followers who are presumably interested in issues related to agricultural water management
* CPWF no longer has a dedicated Twitter account
* Possibly some confusion around WLE vs. CPWF content
* Followers are now automatically following a different account
